Zetta Alderman's journey as a performing artist began at just eight years old in Houston, Texas. With training from renowned figures like Patsy Swayze and the Humphreys School of Musical Theatre, she honed her skills dance, acting, and vocal arts. Throughout her youth, Zetta showcased her talent with prestigious companies such as the Houston Jazz Ballet Company and Theatre Under the Stars, while also making her mark in local television and commercials At 16, she took her talents to New York City, joining the legendary Luigi Jazz Dance Company, and has since enjoyed a remarkable career, including touring with the first international company of "A Chorus Line" and appearing in the iconic film "Urban Cowboy." In 1991, she founded her own dance and performing arts school in Colorado, followed by the establishment of the Colorado Jazz Dance Company the next year.
Alderman has an impressive background in directing and choreographing for renowned organizations such as Theatre Under the Stars, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, and UCCS TheatreWorks. With experience at the Colorado Springs Conservatory, Broadway Theatre Project, St Pete Opera, Opera Theatre of the Rockies, and the Vocal Arts Festival with Martile Rowland, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her craft. Alderman is thrilled to join the exceptional faculty of BESD, where she is dedicated to training the next generation of talented dancers.
