Sarah Ortiz
Co- director / Instructor
Our co-director, Sarah Ortiz, has a long and impressive background in dance. She began dancing at the age of three studying ballet and tap. At the age of five, she was featured on TV's Discoverama. She continued her dance studies branching out to jazz, lyrical and musical theatre styles. At the age of 12, she toured Europe and the former Soviet Union performing tap, jazz, and poms styles. At the age of 18, she danced in London at the invitation of Princess Diana. She has danced in two Super Bowls and numerous Minnesota Vikings games as a dancer and cheerleader. Sarah holds a bachelor's degree in dance with a minor in theatre as well as a bachelor's in communication. She also has a master's degree in special education. Locally, Sarah has been in numerous plays with UCCS TheatreWorks and taught theatre movement at their student theatre camps. She has taught theatre in Colorado Springs School District 11 and has been a special education teacher for more than two decades. It is her belief that, with the right supports, all students can be successful--no matter what they are studying. Sarah is a highly experienced dancer and educator, and we are proud to have her as a member of our team.
